
Police arrested a Queens man on Friday morning for robbing two Nassau County banks in late June, police said.
Cyrus Morris, 43, of Jamaica, Queens, was arrested at 9:30 a.m. in the Brooklyn House of Detention for an unrelated charge. He was charged with two counts of third degree robbery.
On Saturday, June 27, Morris robbed a Chase Bank, located at 10 North Village Ave. in Rockville Centre, police said. After producing a demand note for money and making verbal threats about using a gun, the teller complied and gave Morris an undisclosed amount of cash, police said. The man did not actually display a gun, police said. He then fled the bank and was last seen heading northbound on North Village Avenue toward Sunrise Highway, police said.

On Monday, June 29, Morris then allegedly robbed a Hicksville bank. According to police, Morris entered Chase Bank, located at 84 N. Broadway, handed a demand note to the bank teller and verbally threatened the use of a firearm at 5:44 p.m.
The robber fled on foot, southbound on N. Broadway, with an undisclosed amount of cash, police said.

Morris was arraigned in First District Court in Hempstead on Friday.
