Man In ‘Critical Condition’ After Mineola Crash; Driver Flees: PD

Breaking: The driver of a car that struck a man walking in a roadway kept on going without stopping on Friday night, Nassau police said.

MINEOLA, NY —A 64-year-old man is in critical condition at a local hospital after being struck by a car and left behind on a Mineola roadway on Friday evening, Nassau County police said.

Police said that the man was walking on Roslyn Road at the intersection of Raff Avenue at about 6:15 p.m. when he was struck by a northbound car that did not stop, police said. Police do not have a description of the vehicle that struck the man.

Detectives are requesting that anyone with information about the crash to call Crime Stoppers, a confidential police hotline, at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
