Man Shocked by Electricity While Working Near LIRR in Glen Head
The man was seriously injured from the Tuesday morning incident, police say.

A man was seriously injured after police say he was shocked by electricity while working near the Long Island Rail Road tracks in Glen Head on Tuesday morning.
According to authorities, the 47-year-old was painting a substation on the east side of the Long Island Rail Road tracks on Glen Head Road when he came in contact with roof bushings, causing him to suffer an electric shock at 11:28 a.m.

Several emergency units arrived to the scene to come to the man’s aid, including Third Precinct officers, Emergency Service Unit officers, Ambulance Bureau AMT’s and the Glen Head Fire Department.
The Glen Head Fire Department used their ladders to assist Emergency Service Officers as they moved the man from the roof and placed him into a waiting county ambulance.

He was then taken to an area hospital to be treated for electrical burns.
