Man Injured 6 Nassau Officers During Arrest: Police
Police say officers were called when the man was seen looking into car windows in a parking lot, and he become combative with officers.
Nassau County police say a suspicious man injured a half-dozen officers during his arrest Wednesday night.
According to police, officers responded to a call for a suspicious man looking into car windows at a Walgreens parking lot at 12 East Jericho Turnpike in Mineola at 9:30 p.m. When the officers arrived, police say the man told them his name was Darius Johnson, but did not have any identification on him.
As the officers were trying to confirm his identity, police say Johnson became combative and began to spit at the officers and flail his arms and legs. He was soon placed under arrest, but police say six officers received minor injuries. Johnson and the officers were taken to a hospital for treatment.
