Man Steals $500 in Allergy Medicine From New Hyde Park Store
The incident occurred Tuesday evening.

Authorities are looking for a man who stole nearly $500 worth of allergy medicine from a New Hyde Park store on Tuesday.
According to authorities, the man entered CVS Pharmacy, located at 310 Hillside Ave., and put numerous boxes of Claritin inside his pants pockets at 5:35 p.m.
The man motioned towards his waistband and said he had a gun when he was approached by an employee, police said. The suspect reportedly never displayed a weapon.

The suspect fled on foot, southbound on Hillside Road, with the stolen merchandise valued at $490.85.
Authorities described the suspect as a black male in his mid-twenties, 5-foot-8-inches tall, medium build and wearing black baggy jeans, a blue t-shirt, a Toronto Blue Jays baseball hat and earrings in both ears.
