Mineola is First New York School to Track Air Quality With Special Program
The high school held a ceremony last week to kickstart the School Flags Program.
Mineola High School has become the first school in New York State to keep an environmental mind by participating in the School Flags Program.
Through this program, the school will track air quality index levels and will raise a flag each day based upon the area’s air quality index.
Mineola’s Environmental Club, AP Environmental Science class and the life skills classes are all assisting in the venture, which kicked off with a special ceremony on Thursday, April 21.
