Last Friday night the Mineola Lightning went to Merillon and defeated the Bolts by a score of 9-5.
The Lightning jumped out to a 5-0 lead by Natalie Pusareri and Kaitlyn Wetzel who had RBI Triples. The Lightning increased their lead to 9-0 in the top of the fourth with an RBI double by Samantha Hackenjos and Lexi Cicalese.
On the mound, Emily Haler had 9 strkeouts in three innings pitched and Jillian Haller and Sarah Carbain combined for 5 strkeouts.
In the field the Lightning where helped out by the gloves of Caroline Muessig, Ashley Sandoval, and Christina Crecco.
With this win the Lightning are 6-1 and have a second game lead on first place.
