Here are the top stories today in Mineola:
- Mineola's annual Memorial Day parade is back this year and hosted by the Mineola Fire Department on Monday, May 30 at 11 a.m. All are invited to attend. The parade will start at the corner of Union Street and Westbury Avenue, travel west down Westbury Avenue to Roslyn Road, go north on Roslyn Road to Jericho Turnpike, turn west on Jericho Turnpike to Marcellus Road, and head south on Marcellus Road to end at Mineola Memorial Park. A ceremony to commemorate fallen soldiers will take place in the park afterwards. (Mineola American)
- Grace Methodist Nursery School in Valley Stream is celebrating its 50th anniversary, with children of all religions and towns across Long Island in its program. Director Diane Panzarino said that children from Mineola, Garden City and even towns as far away as Lindenhurst are enrolled in the program, which emphasizes "learning through play and hands-on activities nurtured by a loving staff."
