  1. The woman who was found dead in The Allure Mineola luxury rental residence on Saturday worked and lived in the building, according to neighbors. They said that she lived in a fifth-floor apartment and was employed in the building's marketing department, often giving tours to new residents. Tenants said that the building needs more security, as one resident mentioned incidents of people being robbed in the parking lot. (NBC New York)

  3. Paul Vincent Fabiszewski of Mineola, a beloved husband and father of three daughters, passed away on July 29. A 1995 graduate of Chaminade High School, Fabiszewski went on to earn his law degree and become a member of the New York State Bar Association. He was also an endeared softball coach for the East Williston Little League. Visiting hours will be held at Cassidy Funeral Home on Willis Avenue on Wednesday, Aug. 3 and Thursday, Aug. 4, with a funeral mass at Corpus Christi R.C. Church on Friday, Aug. 5.
