UPDATE: Nassau Pedestrian Hit, Critically Hurt By Pickup Truck

BREAKING: It happened around 10:15 a.m. Friday, police said.

MINEOLA, NY — Police are investigating after a woman crossing a street in Mineola was hit by a pickup truck and critically hurt, Nassau County police said. A 2004 Dodge Ram ran over the woman around 10:15 a.m. Friday near 2nd Street as it was turning left, police said.

The driver remained at the scene.

The woman suffered multiple injuries and was rushed to a local hospital.The names of the driver and victim weren't immediately released.

Police had closed Mineola Boulevard in both directions between Second Avenue and Old Country Road for the investigation. The section of road was reopened about four hours later.

Video taken by Michael Gordon and obtained by Patch showed police officers working the scene near the pickup truck.
