Mineola School Band Director Gets Grant Money For Equipment

The director was awarded a $500 Funding Your Ideas Teacher Grant through Jovia Financial Credit Union.

Christopher Toomey, band director at Mineola High School, was awarded a $500 Funding Your Ideas Teacher Grant through Jovia Financial Credit Union. The grant was used to purchase advanced mouthpieces, ligatures and reeds for members of the eighth grade band. This is Mr. Toomey’s fourth year receiving this grant to benefit the students of Mineola. Eighth grade clarinet, saxophone and tuba players received their new equipment on Feb. 13.
