Mineola School Budget Passes
The Mineola school budget was passed, while Cheryl Lampasona was re-elected to the school board.
MINEOLA, NY--Mineola residents approved a 2019-20 school budget on Tuesday.
The $99,955,750 proposed budget was approved by a margin of 733-207. The budget is a 1.79 percent increase from the current year's. It's accompanied by a 1.97 percent bump in the tax levy. That is below the district's tax levy cap, so the budget only needed to be approved by a majority vote.
Cheryl Lampasona (754 votes), an incumbent, ran unopposed to retain her seat on the school board.
