Mineola Staffers Receive Physical Education Honors
Two staff members from Mineola were recognized by the Nassau Zone.
From the Mineola Union Free School District: Two individuals in the Mineola Union Free School District have been recognized with awards from the Nassau Zone of New York State Association for Health, Physical Education, Recreation and Dance.
District Supervisor for Athletics, Physical Education and Health Ralph Amitrano, was chosen as a recipient of the 2019 Physical Education Director Recognition Award. Meadow Drive’s physical education teacher Christine Gayson was selected as a recipient of the 2019 Elementary Physical Education Teacher of the Year Award. Both were selected based on their extraordinary contributes to students, their school district and the community.
Mr. Amitrano and Ms. Gayson will be honored at the organization’s Professional Recognition Awards Ceremony, which will be held on Monday, June 10, at the Angello Alumni House in Garden City. The district congratulates both on these awards.
