Mineola High School senior Hymn Yiu has been named as a 2017-18 Scholar-Artist by the Long Island Arts Alliance. To be considered as an 11th-grader, Yiu had to have a 90 or better grade point average, excel in artistic abilities, contribute to his school environment and have letters of recommendation. This is the first time the district has had a student earn this designation. Yiu was one of only 20 chosen from more than 120 submissions.
