Mineola Students Perform in Slam Poetry Contest
The contest was in celebration of National Poetry month.

Students at Mineola High School recently participated in the Third Annual CERCA Slam student poetry and recitation contest in celebration of National Poetry Month.
For the contest, students in grades 3-12 were invited to write their own poetry or perform original or published works. Mineola High School student Josephine Jones was honored with the competitions award for Best Use of Rhythm and Meter in her poem, “You Did It Wrong.” The contest served to engage students in National Poetry Month and strengthen their critical literacy skills.
