Mineola Teacher Selected for Highly Selective Educator Fellowship

America Achieves' New York Educator Voice Fellowship helps impact students locally and nationwide.

A teacher at Jackson Avenue School has been selected for America Achieves’ New York Educator Voice Fellowship.

Congratulations to third grade teacher Janice Killelea, who has been teaching in the Mineola School District for 25 years.

This highly selective fellowship provides a platform for sharing best practices and gives educators a voice in local, state and national discussions about public education.

“I am honored to collaborate with dedicated fellows who are committed to providing a quality education with high standards for our students,” she said.

Killelea is teaming up with fellows across New York State to develop skills to significantly impact students locally and statewide.

She a traveled to Albany on Aug. 27-28 to meet and collaborate with other fellows, develop action plans, and engage in discussion with policymakers and thought leaders.
