Mineola Triumphs At First Homecoming On New Field

The district had a special ceremony to open the new field, then christened it with a win over Island Trees.

Mustang pride soared on Oct. 7, as Mineola High School held its 36th annual homecoming parade and game.

Before the game, a special ribbon cutting was held for the newly finished turf field and stadium lighting at Hampton Stadium. Board of Education President Christine Napolitano cut the ceremonial ribbon, along with members of the board, student body and administration .

In its first homecoming game held in the evening under the new lights, the Mustangs took on the Island Trees Bulldogs and won 15-13.
