  1. A suspected drunken driver struck and killed a motorcyclist Tuesday night in Jericho, according to Nassau County police. They said the 29-year-old male victim was heading west on Jericho Turnpike around 11:45 p.m. when he was hit by driver Jordan P. Solomon, 30, of Forest Hills, Queens, who did not remain at the scene. Two nearby communities, Great Neck Gardens and Syosset, were ranked in the top 10 best places to raise a family, as numbers 3 and 5 respectively. (Patch)
  3. SUNY Nassau Community College's WHPC 90.3 FM radio station has been named the best college radio station in the nation by the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System for the second year in a row. The Garden City college's station is run by 100 volunteers, most of whom are SUNY Nassau students, and features a variety of music and informational shows.
