Here are the top stories today in Mineola:
- Mineola residents have a new way to report issues and submit requests to the Village of Mineola: the MyMineola App, available for free on the Apple App Store and Google Play. After registering, app users can report village issues such as potholes, broken street lights, fallen trees and downed electrical wires. (The Island Now)
- Nassau County Legislator Laura Schaefer spoke at a recent Western Property Owners Association meeting to address the possibility of installing speed and red-light cameras in the Village of Garden City. Schaefer and residents who attended the meeting focused on traffic problems on New Hyde Park Road, a longtime issue for the village. (Garden City News)
- A former medical doctor from Amityville with a practice in Roslyn was sentenced to five years in prison for conspiring to illegally distribute the highly addictive painkiller oxycodone. The ex-doctor prescribed thousands of painkillers to two patients from 2013 to 2019, knowing that one of them planned to sell the oxycodone to others. (Port Washington Patch)
