Nanny Caught Hitting 2-Week-Old Infant On Baby Cam In Searingtown: Police

BREAKING: Video footage shows the nanny slapping, forcefully shaking and striking the child multiple times, police say.

A nanny who was caught on surveillance video striking a 2-week old infant from Searingtown was arrested on Friday, police say.

According to authorities, the father heard his infant daughter cry as if she was in pain at 1:40 a.m., which caused him to review video from a camera installed in the baby's room. Police say he saw their nanny, identified as Stacy Sakeran, 57, of Jamaica, Queens, forcefully moving the baby around and slapping her in the face.

The parents then reviewed footage from previous days, and Sakeran was seen on Tuesday yelling at the infant and striking her several times with an open hand, police say.
