National Weather Service Increases Snowfall Prediction for Mineola

Mineola may see up to 6 inches of snow from the approaching storm, according to the National Weather Service.

Snowfall predictions for the region have been on the rise and northern Nassau County is now under a winter storm watch.

At this time, a winter storm watch has not been issued for Mineola, but the latest forecast calls for plenty of snow.

The NWS forecast:

  • Wednesday: Rain before 10am, then rain and snow between 10am and 1pm, then snow after 1pm. Temperature falling to around 35 by 3pm. Wind chill values between 25 and 35. North wind 11 to 17 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of 2 to 4 inches possible.
  • Wednesday Night: Snow, mainly before 10pm. Low around 33. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. Northwest wind 8 to 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 1 to 2 inches possible.
