- NYU Langone Hospital Long Island in Mineola earned an "A" rating in the Spring 2022 Hospital Safety Grades report just released by The Leapfrog Group, a nonprofit watchdog agency. Other local medical centers that made the "A" grade include St. Francis Hospital & Heart Center in Roslyn and North Shore University Hospital in Manhasset. But data also showed that many other hospitals had a decline in patient safety during the pandemic, including Nassau University Medical Center in East Meadow and Mercy Medical Center in Rockville Centre, which were both ranked a "D."
