BREAKING

UPDATE 6:39 p.m.: The LIRR says service has been restored with delays averaging 45-60 minutes on the Oyster Bay, Port Jefferson and Ronkonkoma branches.

Long Island Rail Road service was suspended on three branches Tuesday evening "due to an unauthorized person on the tracks east of Carle Place," the LIRR said on its website.
