Pet Detective Needed: Thieves Nab Bird From Nassau Pet Store
BREAKING: Police say three thieves covered the bird and then flew the coop.

Calling all Long Island pet detectives. A white cockatiel was birdnapped on Saturday when three thieves grabbed it and then sneaked it out of a pet store in Mineola while the employee was distracted by an accomplice.
According to police, an employee of For Birds Only, located at 176 Jericho Turnpike, noticed that one of the white Goffin cockatiels was missing. After reviewing surveillance video, three people were seen covering the bird and taking while another person distracted the employee at the store.
The first thief is a black man wearing a black Yankees baseball cap, a black basketball short-sleeved T-shirt, black pants and black sneakers. The second person is a black woman wearing a gray sweatshirt with black sleeves, blue jeans with ripped knees, a black baseball cap and light blue and white sneakers. The third person is also a black woman with her hair tied up and dots across the front of her hair, wearing a denim jacket, a white T-shirt, black jeans, gray sandals and red earrings. She was carrying a large, dark-colored shoulder bag.

Police are asking anyone with information regarding the theft to call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
