Police: 3 Men Use Fake Job Opportunity to Steal Woman's Bank Info

The men tricked the woman into believing she was hired at a new job to get her banking information, police said.

Three men were arrested this past week for tricking a woman into believing she was hired at a new job and then stealing money from her bank account in Westbury, police said.

According to authorities, the three men, who are being charged with grand larceny, contacted the 21-year-old woman on social media with a job opportunity.

The woman then gave the men her banking information for future direct deposit payments and the men subsequently stole an undisclosed amount of money from her bank account and continued to threaten her on numerous occasions for more money, police said.

  • Joshua Nembhard, 17, of Westbury, on Monday, Aug. 24
  • Robin Diaz, 24, of New Cassel, on Monday, Aug. 24
  • Rodney King, 22, of New Cassel, on Saturday

Nembhard and King were charged with second degree grand larceny and third degree grand larceny. Diaz was charged with fourth degree criminal facilitation.

King and Nembhard were previously arrested in early August for using stolen credit cards at over a dozen locations in Westbury and Carle Place, police said.
