Police: Hempstead Restaurant Employee Stabs Man With Kitchen Knife
The woman is charged with attempted murder following incident early Sunday.

A Hempstead woman is charged with attempted murder after she stabbed a man with a kitchen knife inside a Hempstead restaurant where she worked early Sunday, police said.
Elsa Marina Saravia-Martinez, 34, is charged with second degree attempted murder and fourth degree possession of a dangerous weapon.
According to police, Saravia-Martinez stabbed a 32-year-old man in the abdomen inside Miranda River Café, located at 221 Fulton Avenue at 3:30 a.m. Sunday. Saravia-Martinez was an employee at the restaurant, but police did not say if she was working at the time of the stabbing.

The victim was transported in a private auto to an area hospital where he underwent surgery and is listed in stable condition, police said.
Detectives located Saravia-Martinez at her residence and placed her under arrest without incident, police said. She will be arraigned on Monday at First District Court in Hempstead.
