The office of Immigration &amp; Refugee Services is recognized by the U.S. Department of Justice to counsel, process, file, and represent clients before the US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) and EOIR Immigration Court. Our organization provides essential support to Ukrainian Humanitarian parolees through the Ukraine Supplemental Appropriation to Resettlement Agencies (USARA) Program. Through USARA, we help individuals and families achieve stability, economic independence, and successful integration into the community. We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. Our staff offers a wide range of social and employment services, including: • Development of a personalized self-sufficiency plan • Case management and referrals • Employment services, job search skills, and work experience opportunities • Outreach and community support • Social and cultural adjustment assistance • English language support • Help with school, benefits, and local resource navigation • Transitional services and employment retention support We serve Ukrainian citizens paroled into the U.S., as well as non-Ukrainians who resided in Ukraine and were paroled into the U.S. between February 24, 2022 and September 30, 2024. Long Island Swim School is the teaching arm of the nationally ranked Long Island Aquatic Club. Our Learn to Swim programs create strong, safe, and confident swimmers for life. With locations in Garden City and Syosset we train over 2,000 children each week at every swim level from Beginner to Olympian. Long Island Swim School offers swim lessons for children ages 2 - 14years old. The main emphasis of our programs is to teach children to swim correctly and develop essential water skills in a relaxed environment. Authorities apprehended a Westbury man for breaking into two Hicksville homes early Thursday morning, police said.According to police, Cesar Pimentel-Garcia, 18, entered the unlocked basement of a Jerusalem Avenue home and attempted to remove a flat screen television at 1 a.m. The homeowner was notified by her barking dog that someone was in her home and she then saw the robber run from her rear yard, police said.Pimentel-Garcia then stole a bicycle from the basement of a 10th Street home and fled westbound on the bicycle, police said.Authorities responded to the home and placed the suspect under arrest without incident after he was seen walking westbound on 10th Street.Police said Pimentel-Garcia was in possession of a backpack that contained bolt cutters and latex gloves.He was charged with second degree burglary, second degree attempted burglary and possession of burglary tools.
