Police: Man Pistol-Whipped, Robbed at Gunpoint in Roslyn Heights
The man was ambushed by two men when he went to buy a car he saw on Craigslist, police said.

A man looking to buy a car he saw on Craigslist ended up getting pistol-whipped and robbed at gunpoint by two men in Roslyn Heights on Saturday, police said.
A 36-year-old man went to a Carlyle Place residence to meet the owner of a car he was looking to buy when the man noticed there was no car at the home at 6:22 p.m.
The man was then approached by two unknown men. Police said the first robber tried to distract the man while the second robber pointed a black handgun, demanded cash and hit the man on the head with the handgun. The second robber took the man’s cash, a cellphone and a black wallet.

The two robbers fled with the proceeds on foot east on Willow Street.
Police said the victim refused medical attention at the scene upon police arrival.

Police described the first robber as male, black, 6 feet tall, medium build, 150 pounds and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark pants. Police did not give a description of the second robber.
