Police: Man Struck By Pickup While Crossing Jericho Tpke.

MINEOLA, NY — A 29-year-old man was seriously injured while attempting to cross Jericho Turnpike in Mineola on Thursday, Nassau County police said.

The man was struck by an eastbound 2020 Dodge pickup while he was attempting to cross Jericho Turnpike from the north side over to the south side in the vicinity of Nassau Boulevard at about 6 p.m., police said. The man, whose name has not been released, suffered multiple trauma injuries to his body and was transported to an area hospital where he is listed in critical condition, police said.

Police said the 35-year-old driver of the Dodge remained at the scene and his vehicle underwent a brake and safety check. The investigation is ongoing, police said.
