Police: Men Used Re-Encoded Credit Cards to Go on Manhasset Shopping Spree

The men caused a loss of $119,000 to three organizations, police said.

Two Flushing men were arrested Thursday for causing a loss of approximately $119,000 to three organizations by using re-encoded credit cards at Macy’s in Manhasset this summer, police said.

According to authorities, Zhaolong Wen, 25, and Jianhui Zhuo, 30, used re-encoded credit cards to buy items at Macy’s, located at 1100 Northern Boulevard, between Aug. 7 to Sept. 9.

The men caused a loss in excess of $39,000 to Macy’s, $60,000 to Citibank and $20,000 to Discover, police said.

Wen and Zhuo were arrested at Nassau County Criminal Court in Mineola where they were being arraigned on an unrelated charge.

They were charged with second degree grand larceny and two counts of third degree grand larceny.

Wen and Zhuo were arraigned Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.
