Police Release Photo of Man Who Stole $500 in Allergy Medicine From NHP Store

The man put numerous boxes of Claritin in his pants pockets, police said.

Authorities are looking for a man who stole nearly $500 worth of allergy medicine from a New Hyde Park store on Tuesday, July 14.

According to authorities, the man entered CVS Pharmacy, located at 310 Hillside Ave., and put numerous boxes of Claritin inside his pants pockets at 5:35 p.m.

The man motioned towards his waistband and said he had a gun when he was approached by an employee, police said. The suspect reportedly never displayed a weapon.

The suspect fled on foot, southbound on Hillside Road, with the stolen merchandise valued at $490.85.

Authorities described the suspect as a black male in his mid-twenties, 5-foot-8-inches tall, medium build and wearing black baggy jeans, a blue t-shirt, a Toronto Blue Jays baseball hat and earrings in both ears.
