Police Seeking Details on Roslyn Heights Burglary

A woman was home with her 16-year-old son when she saw a burglar fleeing her home early Saturday, police said.

Police are looking to identify the man who broke into a Roslyn Heights residence while a woman and her son were inside the home early Saturday morning.

According to authorities, a 54-year-old woman was with her 16-year-old son in their Madison Avenue home when she heard a noise in the basement at 12:05 a.m.

The woman turned on a light and did not see anyone, but when she returned to the living room and turned on a light, she saw a man running from the side of the home, police said.

A police investigation revealed a burglar entered into the home through the basement.

No proceeds are believed to be taken at this time.

Police described the burglar as 6 feet tall, 150 pounds and wearing a blue jacket.
