Porch Pirates Wanted In Mineola Package Swipe: Police
Nassau County Police are requesting anyone with information about a pair seen stealing a package from the lobby of a Mineola building.
MINEOLA, NY — Nassau County Police detectives are requesting the public’s help in identifying a pair of porch pirates caught on video surveillance swiping a package from a Mineola apartment building’s lobby back in December.
Detectives said that a resident, who rents an apartment above an Old Country Road storefront between Geranium Avenue and Juniper Avenue, received an email alert that a package was delivered to his address, but video surveillance showed a male accompanied by a female removing the package at about 12:30 p.m. on Dec. 30, 2020. The surveillance showed the male wearing a dark colored jacket, hooded sweatshirt, red pants, black and white sneakers and a red baseball cap, entering the lobby of the building and taking the package, police said. He was accompanied by a female, who was wearing a dark colored jacket, red leggings and red sneakers, according to police.
Detectives request anyone with information regarding this incident to call Crime Stoppers, a confidential police hotline at 1-800-244-TIPS.
