Question of the Day: White After Labor Day
The daily question that asks what's on the minds of Mineola residents.

Far be it if a woman would be the cause of a fashion faux pas (though we do seem to turn our heads at some of those outfits that strut down the runway at designer shows), but we were wondering if an old axiom really holds true anymore.
Traditionally white was worn in the summer by high members of society – it wasn’t just a symbol of the summer, but functional as well since white reflects light and keeps you cooler –but that still probably didn’t stop your mother from telling you ladies that once Labor Day rolled around, pack up the whites along with the swimsuits and flip-flops.
For today’s “Question of the Day,” a feature you will see on this site daily, we’re asking you, the experts on your community, is it ok to wear white after Labor Day?

Do you cling tightly to those traditional ideas of putting away your whites? Or is it not about the color but the outfit in general, i.e. how you wear it? And really, after seeing some of the dresses that pop music singers wear today, are there any rules at all anymore?
