Room Service Attendant Steals $43,000 In Jewelry From Nassau Hotel Room: Cops

That's likely not the kind of room service he was hired to provide.

UNIONDALE, NY – A Nassau hotel employee is accused of stealing $43,000 worth of jewelry from a room at the hotel, police said. Kevin Arocho, 24, is charged with third degree grand larceny and petty larceny.

According to Nassau Police, Arocho, a room service attendant at the Marriott located at 101 James Doolittle Boulevard in Uniondale, entered the room of a 75-year-old guest without permission and removed jewelry valued at $43,000 and prescription medication last Friday night, Sept. 1.

An investigation by detectives led to the arrest of Arocho Wednesday, as well as the recovery of the stolen jewelry, police said.
