Garden City, NY. April 14, 2016. The Cherry Valley Club was aglow with good cheer as RotaCare celebrated the 22nd Caregivers’ Ball. 150 guests gathered to honor the important work of the organization and honorees; Gerard C. Keegan, Vice Chairman and Chief Operating Officer of Astoria Financial Corporation and Astoria Bank, Dr. Victor F. Politi, President and Chief Executive Officer of NuHealth System / NUMC, New York State Senator Kemp Hannon and Dr. Drew Bogner, President of Molloy College.
Kathleen Lamaute, RotaCare Board of Directors President congratulated the four honorees for their personal and professional support of the organization, saying, “RotaCare is a network of civic-minded people and organizations working together to make a difference. This is the essence of RotaCare. As H.E. Luccock of Yale’s Divinity School said, “No one can whistle a symphony. It takes a whole orchestra to play it.“ To all our volunteers, supporters and friends, thank you for making the music that is RotaCare!”
RotaCare patients are among the millions of people in the U.S. who cannot afford health insurance and do not qualify for Medicaid or other government programs. They are left with little or no access to care. Without support from RotaCare, many would develop serious health problems, which would go untreated or burden local hospital emergency facilities.
