CENTRAL ISLIP, NY — Sentencing hearings for Edward Mangano, a former Nassau County executive, and his wife, Linda, have been pushed back, according to federal online court records.

Sentencing for the duo had been set for Thursday, but they were postponed until Dec. 18. Defense attorneys told Newsday that sentencing was delayed because the federal probation department hadn't finished its memo to the judge, a document that includes recommendations of suggested sentences.

Jurors convicted the Manganos at a retrial in March on numerous federal charges including bribery, wire fraud, extortion and obstructing justice.
