LIRR Service Restored
A person was hit by a train Monday afternoon, causing cancellations on multiple LIRR lines.
UPDATE: The LIRR says that it has restored service to the Ronkonkoma, Oyster Bay and Huntington/Port Jefferson lines. HOwever, delays and cancellations are still possible.
UPDATE: As of 3:20 p.m., the LIRR says that limited service has been restored on the Ronkonkoma, Oyster Bay and Huntington/Port Jefferson lines. However, all of the lines are operating on only one track.
However, the LIRR says to still expect "significant delays and cancellations," so riders should use other lines or try to find another way home.

ORIGINAL STORY: Service has been suspended in both directions on three Long Island Rail Road lines after a person on the tracks in Mineola was hit by a train.
The LIRR says that service on the Ronkonkoma, Oyster Bay and Huntington/Port Jefferson branches is suspended until further notice.

Officials say that commuters should use the Babylon, Hempstead, West Hempstead and Port Washington branches instead.
There's no word yet on the condition of the person who was hit.
