- Police officers arrested six people in New Cassel Wednesday afternoon for criminal possession of drugs, weapons and stolen property. Officers searched the house at 52 4th Avenue and found drugs, including opiates, sedatives, crack and ecstasy, an assault rifle and cash, as well as three pit bulls living in inhumane conditions in the backyard. - A 40-year-old Hempstead man will serve 19 years in prison for stabbing his sister's boyfriend to death. Roy Christmas killed 57-year-old William Pinckney during a fight at a party on Warner Avenue in May 2018. (Press Release Desk)
- John Ryan, who served as the North Hempstead Democratic Committee Chairman since 2016, passed away at age 69 after battling prostate cancer. Ryan was a resident of Great Neck and held leadership positions in many organizations in his community, including President of the Great Neck Rotary Club and Co-founder of the Great Neck Business Circle.
