SUNY Old Westbury Student Adan Velasquez of Huntington Awarded Nicholas Maletta Memorial Scholarship from TFCU
Teachers Federal Credit Union awards SUNY Old Westbury Student Adan Velasquez of Huntington Nicholas Maletta Memorial Scholarship.

Huntington, N.Y., October 11, 2016 – Teachers Federal Credit Union (TFCU), one of the country’s largest credit unions, presented one of two $5,000 Nicholas Maletta Memorial Scholarship Awards to SUNY Old Westbury Student Adan Velasquez of Huntington, a senior majoring in finance who is a graduate of John Glenn High School. The scholarship reflects TFCU’s ongoing efforts to provide support and encouragement to a local student within the communities it serves.
Nicholas Maletta, for whom this scholarship is named, began serving on TFCU’s Board of Directors in 1983. In 1991 he was elected Vice Chairman, a position he held until his passing in 2012. In recognition of his 29 years of selfless volunteer work, the $5,000 Nicholas Maletta Memorial Scholarship Award was established for a student who has graduated from a Long Island high school and who is enrolled in SUNY Old Westbury’s School of Business.
“Adan is a worthy recipient of the TFCU Nicholas Maletta Scholarship Award. Now a senior, I am sure Adan is working diligently to complete his course work to earn his graduate degree. We, at TFCU, celebrate Adan’s academic accomplishments and wish him well as he pursues his career in business and finance,” said Robert G. Allen, President/CEO of TFCU.
