- Wildly changing weekend weather is expected for Long Island, with springlike temperatures in the 50s for Saturday, followed by a drop in temperatures and snow for Sunday. Less than 2 to 3 inches of snow by midday is predicted here for Super Bowl Sunday. (News12 Long Island)
- Federal prosecutors have charged four Glen Cove residents in an international mass-marketing investment scheme to swindle investors out of $8.4 million. Prosecutors allege that Michael D'Urso, 54; Alyssa D'Urso, 28; Jay Garnock, 75; and Antonella Chiatamonte, 36; hid behind fake investment firms and a network of shell companies to defraud investors from around the world and then launder the money for personal profit. - Pamela Anne MacCormack, a longtime teacher at Massapequa's Berner High School, passed away at age 83. MacCormack was born in Mineola, graduated from Mineola High School, and spent nearly her whole life in the Tudor house on Violet Avenue that her parents originally owned. Her father also purchased an empty lot next door where MacCormack grew chrysanthemums. Contributions in her memory can be made to the Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 132 Jefferson Ave., Mineola.
