Taxi Driver Robbed at Gunpoint After Dropping Off Passenger in Nassau: Police
BREAKING: The cab driver had just dropped off a woman when a masked man robbed him early Sunday, police say.
UNIONDALE, NY – A cab driver was robbed at gunpoint after he dropped off a woman in Nassau County early Sunday morning, police said.
According to police, the 64-year-old All Island Taxi driver picked up a woman in Mineola and drove her to Uniondale, dropping her off in front of 187 Maple Avenue at about 3:50 a.m.
After paying the driver, the woman walked off in an unknown direction. A man wearing a ski mask then approached the cab, displayed a black handgun and demanded cash from the driver, police said.

The robber then fled on foot in an unknown direction with an undetermined amount of cash. The cab driver drove back to All Island Taxi in Mineola and notified police.
The robber was described as about 5-foot-9, wearing gloves and a dark colored ski mask.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact the Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. All callers will remain anonymous.
