Here are the top stories today in Mineola:

1. Filling a niche in our area for nine years, Sweet to Lick Vegan Bakery on Hillside Avenue in Williston Park closed its doors for good on May 27. Owner Michael Sabet thanked patrons in a Facebook post: "Together we created a space that was not only 'safe' but a fun place to be," and said another chapter in his vegan foods story may come soon. 2. All of Nassau County's high school valedictorians and salutatorians were honored at an annual breakfast by The Nassau Council of School Superintendents, who presented each student with an award to mark their achievement. From Mineola High School, Alvin Tsai is the valedictorian and Katherine Ahn is the salutatorian from the class of 2022. (News12 Long Island)
3. For Town of North Hempstead residents, which includes Mineola, a free senior program called FunDay Monday will be held at North Hempstead Beach Park in Port Washington every Monday from July 11 to Aug. 22. Some of the highlights include the Senior Health, Education and Information Fair on July 25 and a HomeTown USA Salute to the Armed Forces on August 22. (Patch)
