Williston Park Man Arrested After Attempted Murder, Slammed Family Member, Punched Face: Police
NCPD say the woman was struck on the head and choked before the man fled.
WILLISTON PARK, NY — A Williston Park man was arrested after an assault on Wednesday evening, police said.
Nassau County police said officers responded to a Williston Park home for an incident that occurred at approximately 5:42 p.m. Upon arrival, NCPD said they located a 75-year-old woman who said she was attacked inside a house.
Police said the woman was involved in an argument with a 37-year-old man, which became violent. The man was accused of pushing the woman to the ground, repeatedly slamming her head to the ground, and punching her in the face numerous times, police said. The man was accused of having struck the woman's head with a blunt metal object, choked her, and then fled the scene, police said.

The woman was transported to a local hospital, where she is listed in stable condition, police said. The man was located nearby, placed under arrest, and transported to a local hospital for evaluation, NCPD said.
The man was charged with second-degree attempted murder, two counts of second-degree assault, criminal obstruction of breathing/blood circulation, and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, police said.
