Winthrop-University Hospital Gets 'Found Money'
Hospital receives check for unclaimed funds.

Mineola-based Winthrop-University Hospital received a check for $163,467.03 in unclaimed funds, New York Comptroller Thomas P. DiNapoli announced Tuesday.
DiNapoli presented the check to Winthrop’s President and CEO John F. Collins and Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Palmira Cataliotti.
DiNapoli worked with hospital officials to search the state’s records for money that belongs to the hospital but landed instead in inactive accounts that were surrendered to the state’s control.
