Woman Beaten, Robbed Outside East Hills Home: Police

The robbery occurred Saturday evening.

East Hills, NY— A 52-year-old woman suffered head injuries from attempting to fight off a robber who forcibly stole her rings and pocketbook outside her East Hills home Saturday evening, police said.

According to authorities, the woman was unloading packages from a vehicle outside her Peacock Drive residence when a man grabbed her and began punching her in the face at 5:32 p.m.

The woman gave the man her rings after a continued struggle and he then grabbed her pocketbook before fleeing the scene, police said.

The woman followed the man and saw him enter a dark-colored car that reportedly left southbound on Peacock Drive. Police described the robber as 5 feet 8 inches to 5 feet 11 inches tall and wearing a dark-colored hoodie.

The woman was transported to an area hospital to be treated for the contusions and abrasions she sustained to her head from the altercation.
