- A 33-year-old female was shot and killed at the medical building where she worked at 1999 Marcus Ave. in New Hyde Park as part of a domestic dispute, according to her employer, Northwell Health. The woman was shot multiple times in the publicly accessible garage of the medical building after 4 p.m. on Thursday and taken to a local hospital, where she was pronounced dead. The Nassau County Police Department is investigating the incident and asks anyone with information to please call Nassau County Crime Stoppers at 1-800-244-TIPS. (abc7NY)
- Continental Who's Who is recognizing John R. Durso as a Trusted Union President for his work at Local 338 in Mineola and the Long Island Federation of Labor. Durso began his career as a deli clerk at Waldbaum's supermarkets and became an organizer for Local 338 in 1984. Fifteen years later he became president of Local 338, managing 130 bargaining agreements with employers throughout New York and New Jersey. (PR Newswire)
- The Boomer Esiason Foundation and New York Riptide professional lacrosse team are joining forces on Saturday for "Riptide CF Night" at Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale to raise money for cystic fibrosis.
