MoonOwl Track & Field Club

MoonOwl Track &amp; Field Club is a community-based youth athletics organization serving homeschooling families in Monsey and surrounding towns. The club focuses on general athletic development, coordination, running skills, and confidence building in a supportive and inclusive environment. Children of different ages train together, encouraging teamwork, movement skills, and healthy physical activity. Participation is offered as part of the club’s community outreach mission and is available to homeschool students. Parents are welcome to attend and observe sessions. Programs are led by an experienced track &amp; field coach and are designed to support active lifestyles and youth development within the local community through volunteer coaching and community involvement.

Free track & field training for homeschool students 

About your business MoonOwl Track &amp; Field Club is a community-based youth athletics program offering free track and field training exclusively for homeschooled students. The club was founded by Olga Lapina, a former Olympic national team athlete, national record holder, and certified sports psychologist. As a homeschooling parent herself, she created the program to provide accessible, high-quality athletic training for families educating their children at home. MoonOwl welcomes homeschool students of all ages and skill levels. Training focuses on physical development, coordination, confidence, and building a supportive community environment. Parents, grandparents, and siblings are welcome to attend and participate alongside the athletes. The club is officially registered with USA Track &amp; Field (USATF) and offers year-round training, including access to indoor facilities during the winter season. The program is open to homeschooling families from all towns across Rockland County.

Pine Island Camp

Pine Island is a non-profit summer camp, in continuous operation since 1902 that fosters boys’ independence, imagination, and character. While many camps operate as profit-driven small businesses, Pine Island stands apart as a 501(c)(3) organization. For over a century, it has provided boys aged nine to fifteen the most meaningful experiences of their lives. On a small island in Maine’s Belgrade Lakes, campers live unplugged—without electricity or running water. They gain the freedom to make meaningful choices, the support of a community grounded in shared values, and enough time away from home to feel both independent and integral to a unique community they help build. Whether your son is shy or outgoing, big or small, Pine Island will challenge him to bring out his best in the simple joys and varied circumstances of outdoor living. All of this happens under the close guidance of our caring staff, nearly all of whom are former campers themselves. Spots are limited—Pine Island limits enrollment to fewer than 100 campers each summer.
