• Former Moriah Shock prison faces official shutdown (timesunion.com) — Contractors are now decommissioning the former Moriah Shock prison in the town of Moriah, boarding up buildings and shutting down utilities after hopes for a reuse-friendly constitutional amendment fell through. Local leaders, who once envisioned workforce housing or a training academy there, say the move is frustrating and fear the loss of redevelopment potential and jobs for the community.
