1 Wounded In Early Morning Shooting On Pearl Street

The 28-year-old victim was taken to Jacobi Medical Center. Police say that no arrests have been made yet in connection with the shooting.

MOUNT VERNON, NY — Mount Vernon police are investigating a shooting this morning that left one man injured.

At around 6:45 a.m. on Thursday, Mount Vernon police were called to Pearl Street, on a report of shots fired with a person struck.

Responding officers located a man, later identified as 28-year-old Camron Jackson, of Mount Vernon, suffering from a gunshot wound to his right shoulder.

Jackson was transported to Jacobi Medical Center and is expected to make a complete recovery, according to police

MVPD detectives are investigating the shooting. No arrests have yet been made in connection with the gun violence incident.

Mount Vernon police are asking that anyone with information about the shooting to contact the MVPD Detective Division at 914-665-2510. All calls will be kept confidential, according to police. Anonymous tips can be submitted through the MVPD "Text-A-Tip" by texting "MVPD" and the tip to 847411. Information can be anonymously sent using the "Mount Vernon PD" app, available in the Google Play and Apple store.
